Not only will you get a warm welcome at Jadellas, you will get an Ey up mi duck! Derbyshire welcome. Both Jill & John originate from that neck of the woods, but moved to Whitby some fifteen years ago. Jill is an accomplished horsewoman and John is a Martial Arts Master. Jill's love of horses and John's involvement with the Whitby Martial Arts Club based at Hawsker, prompted a move to the village and the opportunity for good stabling and riding on the moors meant Jill could fulfill her dream of owing horses. She rapidly became a familiar figure riding her favourite Dales pony Popeye on and around the moors. John's Martial Arts Club thrived , he and his and his colleagues reputations in this sport have grown nationally.

As you can probably gather, Pop's Bar is named after Popeye, whose young life was tragically cut short, prompting Jill & John to this new life as Hoteliers. Popeye was fond of a beer, often taking a glass or two during pitstops whilst out riding. His memory lives on in photographs and memorabilia in the bar.
